SAFETY

  • Be aware that bike trail ratings in Whistler are typically more challenging than a comparable rating back home. A Blue here = Black elsewhere.
  • AlpX will have a bike patrol staff perform a sweep after all riders have started down the trail to ensure safety, and trail etiquette (not riding off-trail or disrespecting the land).
  • All riders will be equipped with a radio to contact the bike patrol staff in case of injury or emergencies. Serious injuries may be provided with a helicopter evacuation, potentially subject to additional fees.

ABOUT

This piece of alpine trail building artistry is a treat we are proud to share with our more advanced riders. We recommend this trail to riders who frequent “Black Diamond Technical Trails” in the Whistler bike park. With a landing pad just a few hundred meters away from the colossal Ipsoot Glacier, you are truly ‘out there’. You’ll have stunning views as you ride down this single-track mix of alpine rock and tundra to the bowl below.

What's Included?
• Shuttle to and from Whistler Village
OR
• Complimentary Parking
• Flight to the top of the Trail
• Certified Bike Guide (Guided Program Only)

Guided: We are pleased to be able to offer a guided option for your ride. While this trail does not have many forks or wrong turn options, it is very much a ‘backcountry’ experience and does not have cell service throughout, or any aid stations along the way. For riders who would love to have somebody guiding through the technical sections, fixing their mechanical issues, and ensuring close communication and contact with our operations base, we highly recommend taking a guide with you on your day.

The Day

  • Shuttle Ride / Self Drive to staging area near the base of the trail where your pilot/guide will introduce themselves and you will receive additional instruction on helicopter safety as well as a trail etiquette and practices.
  • Flight to trailhead.
  • Ride the trail.
  • 1:00pm – 3:00pm Shuttle departs base of trail once every hour. Clients are expected to coordinate their ride time with shuttle departure times. Ride time indicators will be present along the trail.
