Departing from the Kaikoura airport you will fly past the back of Mt. Fyffe, over lake Hapuku and past Mt. Alexander. Descending south of the Clarence river mouth, you will then fly along the northern coastline to view the location of the major 2016 earthquake damage. Your pilot will then fly around the Kaikoura peninsula before returning to the airport.

After take-off, We will climb to approximately 6000 feet to fly past the back of mount Fyffe for some true mountain flying. Look for surfers while you overfly the famous mangamaunu surf break before flying around the Kaikoura peninsula. Here you get to see that it is dotted with resident seals. You will get a great appreciation of the scale of the limestone uplift that is also a result of 2016 earthquake.
