Description
One of our premier bear viewing fly-in experiences is located in the wild and scenic Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. This rugged yet beautiful area comprises sleeping active volcanoes, ice fields and glaciers, and an abundance of wildlife with lakes and streams that are teeming with trout and salmon. The huge runs of sockeye and silver salmon migrate upstream to Crescent Lake and attract a very high concentration of brown bears to this area. This is where your adventure begins.
A short 40 minute flight from our seaplane base in Soldotna will fly you past Mount Redoubt, whose spectacular eruption entertained Alaskans and viewers across the world in 2009. While here, you'll have the possibility of seeing cubs, young adult bears and a number of big bruins whose presence commands immediate respect from all other bears. These bears are drawn to the lake shore where thousands of salmon are spawning in the shallows. And as spawned salmon die and drift back into the river outlet, more bears will travel the riverbank in search of an easy meal.
Lake Clark itself is a park that spans 4-million acres and is home to a veritable wealth of flora and fauna. In addition to the fish and bear populations, you may also catch a glimpse of moose, caribou, Dall Sheep, and even wolves. Description
“Let us show you Alaska from a half mile up!”
This family fun tour is designed as a very flexible introductory adventure and is based on customer choice and interest. Select between inlet views, vast tidal flats, or upslope mountain terrain. Our same experienced Alaska pilots. We use a variety of our custom designed wheel planes to show you Alaska local. Not a pure wilderness experience, but a good way to complete that bucket list or to check us out. Great fun, just about an hour. Designed for families! (Up to 4 people!)
We utilize specially modified Cessna wheeled planes where every seat is a window seat. Music, two-way Bose noise-cancelling communication headsets, and on board beverages are standard on our flights. Our experienced Alaska pilots were raised in this very country and love showing it off.

Description
The federally-protected Katmai National Park and Preserve is world famous for Alaska brown bear viewing. Accessible only by air, this is Alaska wilderness in its rawest form.
Our fly out Katmai bear viewing adventure takes you to Brooks Falls, where three bear viewing platforms connected by elevated boardwalks allow for close, unobstructed and extraordinary bear viewing in Katmai National Park. In July, lured by spawning salmon, as many as fifty bears can be seen at once along the 1.5-mile Brooks River.
While the Katmai bear viewing at Brooks Falls is self-guided, Katmai National Park Rangers provide an initial briefing upon arrival and are available throughout the park for questions. An on-site wait list for the Lower River bear viewing platform may be implemented when visitation reaches capacity to ensure quality bear viewing. What this means is that sometimes the bear viewing is crowded and the ranger may ask you to move to another platform. The is plenty of room in Katmai overall to see bears.
Please note: The activity level on this tour is considered mild to moderate as it requires walking on maintained trails to get to the two main viewing platforms. Total distance is approximately 1.2 miles. The trail is mostly flat and well maintained.
