Here you will be geared up with glacier boots and given a safety briefing by our friendly and attentive tour attendants. Load up into our state of the art helicopters and begin your bucket-list worthy adventure. Our highly-trained pilots will lift you off the ground and safely transport you over some of the most breathtaking sights you have ever seen. Lush green rainforests, alpine ridges, and glacier valleys pass beneath you as you make your way to the main attraction, the famous Mendenhall Glacier. Before touching down, you will have a birds-eye view of the awe-inspiring blue glacier ice, deep crevasses, spectacular ice falls and the jagged peaks of the Mendenhall Towers.
Once you have safely landed on the glacier you will be welcomed by our team of expert glacier guides. Our knowledgeable guides will take you on a tour of Mendenhall Glacier. During the 25 minutes you spend on the glacier you will learn how glaciers are formed and what makes them so spectacular. The tour will allow you to explore melt-water pools, feel glacial silt, and capture all of the beauty on your camera. The adventure isn’t over yet; join your pilot in the helicopter for a ride back to our base to take in the Alaskan beauty from the air one last time. Juneau Helicopter Tour Details
- When selecting a Juneau helicopter glacier tour time; please allow yourself a 45-minute buffer from when your ship arrives and leaves. It is your responsibility to book times that work with your cruise ship.
- The selected tour time is the pick-up time from the Goldbelt Tram Building (490 S. Franklin Street). This landmark will have red gondolas going up and down the mountain (it is important to note that you are NOT getting on the tram, you are just meeting at the building).
- Coastal Helicopters will try our best to accommodate parties/families in the same helicopter. However, we cannot guarantee seating as it is all based on helicopter weight and balance, as well as the other parties within the flight. This will be determined at the time of check-in once everyone on the flight has weighed in. Should your family/party be split into multiple helicopters, the landing will happen together. Please also note that lap children are NOT allowed, and each passenger must purchase a full-fare ticket.
- Please report proper weights of all guests (including the weight of clothes and boots). Inputting improper weights, or selecting the wrong passenger type can lead to cancellation without refund.
- Please be aware that every guest is individually weighed at our facilities.
Our Helicopters hold 6 Standard Passengers. Groups with more than 6 Standard Passengers will be split up.
