A 15 minute Scenic flight where we fly towards the Kaikoura peninsula where you are going to see seals and the earthquake uplift. We will then fly over the township with a spectacular view of the Ocean South, and the mountains North.

Description
Departing from the Kaikoura airport you will fly past the back of Mount Fyffe, over Lake Hapuku and then descend along the northern coastline. Your pilot will then fly you around the Kaikoura peninsula before returning to the airport.
Enjoy a panoramic scenic flight, with stunning scenic views of the Seaward Kaikoura ranges and a birds eye view of the Kaikoura Peninsula. After take-off, we will climb to approximately 6000 feet to fly past the back of Mount Fyffe for some true mountain flying. You might see fresh snow, a waterfall or a wild deer if you have sharp vision. Next, we will overfly Lake Hapuku, which is a direct result of the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake. Your pilot will then descend towards the Hapuku river mouth and fly along the black sand beach towards the Kaikoura peninsula. Flying around the peninsula, you get to see that it is dotted with resident seals. You will get a great appreciation of the scale of the limestone uplift that is also a result of 2016 earthquake.

Descending south of the Clarence river mouth, you will then fly along the northern coastline to view the location of the major 2016 earthquake damage. Your pilot will then fly around the Kaikoura peninsula before returning to the airport.

From the air, you can see that there is more to a whale than just the tail. you get to really appreciate its full size. There might also be the opportunity to see the playful dusky dolphins and other marine life on your flight, remember: it is nature, and we never know what we are going to see. After we find whales and time allows, we will take you on a scenic flight of Kaikoura and the stunning surrounds that include the high Alpine snow-clad Seaward Kaikoura mountain range, and to the east, the deep blue Pacific Ocean.
