On departure from Aldinga Airfield, the flight begins by tracking south along the western coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula. The flight is a magnificent viewing platform for the rugged ginger and cream rolling cliffs.
Now on track to Cape Jervis where the ferry sails from the terminal to Kangaroo Island, the flight goes by the Starfish Hill Wind Farm which rises to a height of 306 metres above sea level, with 22 wind turbines rising up to 68 metres each across two hills.
Climbing up over Cape Jervis, the course is set for a track across Backstairs Passage to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island, an island seven times the size of Singapore. The beach at Penneshaw is known as Hog Bay with its own colony of Fairy Penguins.
On to Kingscote which is situated on the shores of beautiful Nepean Bay and the commercial and business hub of the island. To the north there are steep cliffs that descend steeply to Reeves Point (old Kingscote), the site of the first official South Australian
